About the forum

The Thematic Forum of the JCAC network engages in awareness raising, knowledge sharing, debate, and mutual learning on a wide range of issues related to the life of community radios, the profession of community journalists, and their impact on the sustainable development of local communities. The discussions are facilitated and moderated by the network secretariat under the supervision of the Center for Communication and Sustainable Development for All (CECOSDA).

Thematic discussions are open once a month, starting on the 5th of each month. People registered on the forum receive notification by email or phone and have 14 days to send their contribution by email to the address reseaujcac@gmail.com Après dix jours, la thématique est fermée pour permettre au secrétariat de compiler les contributions et de le partager avec les acteurs du secteur. Les contributions portant les noms et les organisations les personnes ayant contribuées sont partagées par email dans un large groupe de partenaires internationaux et disponible en ligne pour référence.

Who can contribute?

Tous les acteurs intéressés par le journalisme communautaire et les membres du forum peuvent contribuer en envoyant un article en relation avec la thématique ouverte. L'article devra décrire les faits et la situation qui prévaut dans son contexte avec des sources des données, et une ou deux photos idéalement. Les articles sont signés avec mention de sa radio ou de son organisation.

Why contribute?

When you contribute by sending your contributions to a theme and sharing your realities on the ground, you gain visibility with partners and donors for participation in international conferences. You also contribute to the promotion of community journalism. Through your contributions, your radio can also receive support in terms of advertising or grants. The contribution report is published online with high visibility and distributed by email to over 1000 institutional contacts. Journalists who contribute are also prioritized for trainings funded by donors.
